MISSIONARY OUTREACH
Jesus told us to make disciples of all nations. One of the very important values of Westover Community Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Westover Community Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from supporting Samaritan’s Purse, contributing to the Gideon’s Bible Association, filling Christmas Shoeboxes for needy children around the world to Community Fish Fry’s to weekly Radio programs and Evangelistic Foreign Mission trip outreaches.
Missions is a significant part of who we are. We believe in reaching out to our local community—and supporting missionaries around the world through giving, prayer and going on mission outreaches. We prayerfully and financially support various local outreach ministries and our Foreign Missionary work in Spain. Some local outreaches include the Anchorage which helps those with addictions, Jay’s Hope which supports children and their families suffering with cancer, and disaster relief and Christmas shoe boxes sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. Opportunities for financial giving are made available.
Westover Community Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We support missions because we believe in reaching out to those who have yet to hear about the saving, healing and transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Our vision is to have an “expanded heart – expanded reach” within our local community and beyond to channel God’s love and bring His good news through these areas.
We also believe in “boots on the ground” missions and run mission’s trips during the summer months. Our pastor and his family have amazing testimonies of how God has worked on missions trips. We encourage you to participate in any way you can.
Barry and Deborah have ministered to children and young people for years. Their yearly Christian Summer Camps provide a unique opportunity to reach young people with the Gospel as they are forming their identities, questioning their worldview, and seeking meaning and purpose. When participants hear the Gospel and turn to Christ, they become world changers for Him. Spain, with only 1% of its population saying they know Christ, needs these world changers.
Pastor Barry Butters and his wife Deborah are affiliated with ICEA (Iglesia Cristiana Evangélica Apostólica)ministries in Spain. This group of Evangelical Apostolic Christian Churches (ICEA) was founded under the leadership of his father-in-law, Daniel Del Vecchio in 1964, who now oversees a network of 12 churches, and who also pioneered Christian Drug Rehabilitation Centers.
A word from the Pastor:
As the pastor, I want to thank the church body for partnering with us to obey Jesus and His Great Commission. Our responsibility is to pray, send, and go. While some of us can’t go, we can send and always pray. Your efforts in helping to support missions through praying, giving and letting us go will have long range consequences towards advancing His Kingdom. You may not see the rewards of your labor here, but many will approach you in His Kingdom and say “THANK YOU! You helped me get here!”
Please remember that the most important thing is to continue to pray for our fellow Kingdom workers.
Thank you for allowing us to serve you, thank you for partnering with us to grow His Kingdom and thank you for your prayers.
Pastor Barry Butters
